I Want To Be The One...

   Ichigo grunted loudly as he sat down on the school roof. "Ichigo..." Chad mumered. "Kurosaki Kun? Wheres Kuchiki san?" Orihime asked. "I don't know! Probably somewhere with the new guy!" He shouted angrily. "Jealous, Kurosaki?" Uryuu asked teasingly. "Shut up Ishida!" Ichigo shouted annoyed. Uryuu smiled trying to hold in laughter. Ichigo leaned against the bars around the roof, trying to ignore Uryuu.

   Ichigo found Rukia after school. "Yo," he greeted. "Hey I'm gonna walk home with the new kid today, so I'll see you later," Rukia said. "But how-" "Fake adress. I'm gonna ask him to drop me off at a street corner." "Oh okay," he replied, "See ya." Ichigos heart sunk into the pit of his stomach. She usually walked home with him so it felt wierd not having her around to annoy him. It was a wierd feeling he couldn't shake off no matter how hard he tried.

   The next day at school, during lunch, Rukia was nowhere to be found. "Ichigooo~" Keigo shouted, crying. Ichigo punched him harder then usually. "Rukia chan is never going to hang out with us again!" Keigo cried. "What the hell are you talking about?" Ichigo asked, annoyed. "Rumours have been going around that the new kid is gonna confess his love for her!" Keigo replied. "Yeah," Mizurio agreed, pulling out his cell from his pocket, "I've got 10 texts about it." Ichigo stood up. "Where are they?" he asked quietly. "T-They're under the cherry blossom tree in the back," Keigo stuttered. Ichigo gritted his teeth and ran off.

   "...You must have misunderstood his actions. Hes very insensitive, no?" The new guy asked the shocked Rukia. "No, you see-" "You must like Ichigo alot," he said. "No, of course not! He can be kind or an idiot sometimes, but we're just friends! I just misunderstood!" she protested. "Maybe you shouldn't hang out with him anymore," he suggested, "You could be more free, more independent." "Yeah. but-" "I hate to have to tell you this, but I heard he likes someone," he told her sadly. "Oh...." Rukia mumbles, tears forming in her eyes. "It's probably Inoue, but why am I crying. I don't like him like that, do I?" She thought. "Don't worry, there are a lot of other guys," he told her, grabbing hold of her hands, "You could go out with me." Rukia was shocked. She didn't know what to say. "What the hell are you doing!?" She heard a voice boom. Ichigo was lifting up the new kid by his shirt. "What the hell did you do to make her cry?!" "Sorry Rukia chan," the boy said, smiling, trying to cheer her up. "Ichigo! He did nothing wrong! He was just trying to comfort me..." She shouted, a tear escaping her eye. "Rukia...." Ichigo murmered. He grabbed her by the wrist and ran off.

   "Ichigo! Let me go!" She shouted. He let go of her and opened his mouth to speak, but she stopped him. "Why...Why did you do that...?" She asked, another tear rolling down her face. "I...I...I want to be the one you eat lunch with. I want to be the one you walk home with. I want to be the one you annoy. I want to be the one who comforts and protects you. I want to be the one you love to hate," he stated thrusting his thumb to his chest. "Don't Misunderstand," she thought, clenching her fists, knuckles turning white. "What I'm trying to say is I want to be the one you like because... I like you, Rukia," He shouted, his face flushed with embaressment. "You...?" she asked, trying to clarify the situation. "Don't make me say it again!" he shouted. She smiled at him through tears. "Thats good," she said, "because I like you too... Ichigo."
